Faith in action! Wayne Parker, a parishioner of St. Stephen Catholic Community, is using his woodworking skills for the church. Parker has built an altar, a credence table, a stand for a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, and a lighted box to hold five first class relics.
“In Wayne, we find an exemplar of selfless action; a person who, upon recognizing a need, simply rises to meet it, never pausing to count the cost or the recognition. To call him a ‘St. Joseph’ is no mere compliment. It is an acknowledgement of his ingenuity, his profound humility, and his ability to transform simple wood and chisel into vessels of beauty and worship,” said Father Davis Chackaleckel, pastor
