Saint Teresa of Calcutta is known to have said: “By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus.”
Saint Teresa of Calcutta’s life of service was infused with compassion and the Little Way of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, whose name she received when, in 1928, she joined the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, known as the Sisters of Loreto, in Ireland.
