• Today is the memorial of St. Teresa of Calcutta! Born Agnes Gonxhe in North Macedonia in 1910, she entered the Sisters of Loreto at age 18 and spent many years teaching in Calcutta, India before receiving a deeper call in 1946 to serve the poorest of the poor. She founded a new religious community, the Missionaries of Charity, to fulfill this mission. Her sisters can be found all over the world, easily recognized by their distinct blue and white sari. Mother Teresa died in 1997 and was canonized in 2016.

We pray in a special way today for the St. Teresa of Calcutta Pastorate of our diocese. St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
