Today is the Feast Day of St. Jerome, who said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.”
However, Scripture is not always easy to understand and can be cumbersome. That is exactly when we need to reflect and pray, asking God to give us the grace to understand what He is saying to us.
Consider it a challenge. St. Jerome was devoted to the Bible to read it, break it down, meditate on it, speak it with a joyful heart, and act on it, mirroring Christ.
Today on the Feast Day of St. Jerome, let us take his challenge and ask God to give us the wisdom of understanding, opening our hearts and minds to his word in the Scriptures.
