Hospitality from the Heart: On any given day, priests, nuns, teenagers or engaged couples may be seen strolling the grounds of Ben and Lisa Harris’ property in Cottleville.
The Harrises operate Bethany Farms, a free retreat space for people to encounter Christ, from a renovated barn in their very own backyard. It was their family’s next step in answering God’s call to hospitality that goes back decades.
“Hospitality is not just about serving people dinner; it’s about how you look at them, how you speak to them, how you call them higher,” Lisa Harris said. “You’re showing them the truth, their true identity in Christ. They are a son or daughter of God, and we treat each other with love.”
