Back at in October, Archbishop Andrew Bellisario, C.M. celebrated the Jubilee Mass for peace and justice at the National Shrine of St. Thérèse in Juneau.
The shrine has been a blessing since Vicar Apostolic Joseph Crimont, S.J. dedicated it on October 26, 1941, 22 years after he placed the Alaska Mission under the protection of then Servant of God Thérèse of Lisieux, and 4 years before he would be buried there in the chapel’s crypt. Bishop Edward Burns announced on October 1, 2016 that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops had designated the site as a national shrine.
Please continue to pray for peace and justice, for the shrine, the people of Juneau, and for the protection of Alaska by St. Thérèse, our patron!
