Did you know that all priests and bishops are also deacons? Every man ordained in the Catholic Church is first ordained a deacon. This forever imprints on his soul the character of Holy Orders.
Since Vatican II, the Church has authorized and mandated that some ordained deacons remain so permanently – men upon whom hands are laid, not for the priesthood, but for a ministry of service. These men live a life of self-sacrificial service strengthened by the grace of ordination.
The Diocese of Cheyenne is currently blessed with thirteen men who began their permanent diaconal formation in September. Please pray for and support them in their growth and discernment.
