Sister Marjorie Buttner, OP, passed away on Nov. 7, 2025, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. Sister Marjorie was born in 1929 in Boston, Mass. and professed final vows with the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa in 1953 and received the religious name Sister Stella Maris. Sister Marjorie’s ministry was dedicated to teaching and archival work, which she shared with our diocese as a teacher and counselor at Anaconda Central High School in Anaconda.
Eternal Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let Your perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
