On Saturday, November 15, the Eastern Prelacy organized a youth gathering at Pashalian Hall of St. Illuminator՛s Cathedral. Archpriest Fr. Mesrob Lakissian welcomed the audience, followed by opening remarks by Armen Morian, Esq., chairman of the Board of Trustees. A brief artistic program followed. The event was moderated by Ms. Tamar Kanarian, secretary of the Executive Council of the Eastern Prelacy.
His Holiness Catholicos Aram I underscored that “it is imperative to give ample space to the youth in Armenian life. I make this same suggestion with special emphasis whenever I have meetings with our community leaders and with the youth during my Pontifical visits. I make the same suggestion because I feel and see that our youth has not been given yet the necessary place and role in our common life. It is an imperative need, especially in the contemporary world. Our young people are called upon to bring their participation to the life of our Church and our institutions, utilizing their professional expertise and their unique perspective on the modern world.”
Following his remarks, His Holiness gave comprehensive answers to the questions from the floor, which covered issues mainly related to the Church, culture and Armenian identity.
