State Senators Jarrett Coleman and Nick Miller will distribute free turkeys to those in need in time for Thanksgiving — thanks to the generosity of Jaindl Farms — in a project coordinated by the Diocese of Allentown.
The turkey giveaway begins at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, 1825 W. Turner St., Allentown.
In addition to free turkeys, families in need also will receive a bag of food items from Catholic Charities, Diocese of Allentown.
“We are blessed with the support of Senators Coleman and Miller and the generosity of Jaindl Farms to make this food distribution possible,” said Bishop Alfred A. Schlert.
“May God shine His light on all those in need of food, and on all those who help make this timely distribution possible,” Bishop Schlert said.
Senator Coleman represents Pennsylvania’s 16th Senatorial District and Senator Miller represents Pennsylvania’s 14th Senatorial District.
The turkey and food distribution will continue until all turkeys have been claimed. Jaindl Farms, Orefield, has generously donated 200 turkeys for the event.
