Jesse Tree Day 4 || Through our baptism, we become sons and daughters of Jesus, the descendent of Abraham.
Even though he and his wife were well beyond child-bearing ages, God gave Sarah and Abraham a son and promised him descendants as numerous as the stars. The greatest of those descendents is Jesus, who becomes our Father in baptism (and therefore we are descendants of Abraham). God fulfills his promise to Abraham through every member of the Church, every baptized soul here on earth and in heaven.
Abraham was faithful to God, even when having a son seemed beyond naturally possible — this Advent renew your faith in God, through whom all things are possible.
