Jesse Tree Day 11 || David, a small, insignificant man was the unlikely pick for a king — so was Jesus, born into poverty in a manger, yet he is the King of Kings.
To human eyes, David seemed weak and insignificant, yet when God chose David as king, he looked at his heart — there he found a young man devoted to God. Jesus also seemed unlikely to be king, both by his birth and by his “crowning” with a crown of thorns; his throne, the Cross. When we look at these events through human eyes, we do not understand. But God’s ways are not our ways, and we need to look deeper, and look with faith, to see things his way. Faith gives us a basis for things we do not understand, particularly faith in his unfailing love.
