Simbang Gabi begins next week on Dec. 16 and will be celebrated the next nine days at parishes throughout our diocese with Mass followed by food and fellowship.
This Filipino tradition of the nine-day novena began with liturgies held early in the morning to give farmers the opportunity to attend Mass before beginning their work.
Bishop Knestout will celebrate the Diocesan Simbang Gabi Mass on Sunday, Dec. 21 at St. Jerome in Newport News (which also hosts Simbang Gabi Masses each of the nine days).
