This morning St. Anne Catholic School and The Giving Field on Liberty St presented their harvested sweet potatoes to The Some Other Place, The Hospitality Center, Market to HOPE Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, and Nutrition and Services for Seniors. The 5th grade class began planting the potatoes in the 4th grade and watched them grow for many months. Last week, they were able to harvest 486 pounds of sweet potatoes. They learned that one pound of potatoes feeds four people and they were thrilled to calculate that their harvest would feed 1,944 people! What a gift for our community!
