Jubilees have a long and rich history in the Catholic Church. But they actually have roots in ancient Judaism. And, fun fact, they were proclaimed by the sound of a goat’s horn. 🐐The Mosaic law said that during this time, slaves could regain their freedom and that land should be returned to its former owners.

While Jubilees don’t look quite like that anymore, they are a time for repentance and spiritual freedom. They are a reminder that we are all called to ongoing, daily conversion and an invitation to renew our relationship with God.
