Parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Boston recently announced the launch of the 2025 Boston Catholic Appeal. Parishioners shared their personal sentiments as to why the Catholic Appeal is so deeply important and how it helps thousands of lives across our communities.
We are hopeful that Christ’s mission of love will inspire great generosity. For through gifts of self and sacrifice, we witness living hope. http://www.bostoncatholicappeal.org/donate25-03

“Donations to the Catholic Appeal support:• People like Mary. Mary is deaf and has struggled to find a sense of community. She often feels very sad and lonely. The Catholic Appeal supports ministries like the Deaf Apostolate that organizes social gatherings and events for the deaf community. Through this ministry, Mary has made many friends and now has a busy social calendar.
• The Appeal also supports hospital chaplains who respond to frantic calls in the middle of the night- to baptize a dying infant, to console grieving relatives, or to simply be human support when artificial support fails.
• It supports people like Theresa and Jim who are preparing for marriage. Ministries funded by the Catholic Appeal help engaged couples prepare for the hurdles known as “better or worse” that will inevitably creep into their journey.
• It supports people like Alicia who -because of the support of the Catholic Appeal- found an addiction recovery program where she learned that God doesn’t use “rock bottom” as a measuring stick for worthiness.
• It supports children like Frankie. Because of the many parish food pantries, soup kitchens, and programs supported by the Catholic Appeal, 6-year-old Frankie can think about his spelling test rather than about his empty belly as he walks to school.”(Witness Testimony, St. Mary’s Foxboro, Foxborough, March 2025)
