• Today, March 25, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation! As soon as Mary gave her “yes” to God during Gabriel’s visit, our Savior was conceived within her womb, a moment that we celebrate exactly nine months before the birth of Christ at Christmas.

Today is a great day to pray the Angelus! The Angelus is a prayer that is typically prayed at 6:00 am, Noon, and 6:00 pm, and it recalls Gabriel’s visit to Mary and Jesus’ conception. Even if you don’t pray it at the three normal times, it’s still a wonderful way to pause and take time for prayer in the midst of your day. And don’t forget that since today is a Solemnity, you can relax your Lenten penances!
