• Have you ever heard the phrase “You are what you eat?” Well, Catholics can take this expression to a whole new level. Our lives on earth are all about knowing, loving, and serving God, so that we might someday become divinized and share His glory in Heaven. The Eucharist is our food for the journey on the way to Heaven. And as we consume the real Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ at Mass, there is a sense where we really can become what we eat. Christ deigns to become part of us, becoming our food, all so that we can become part of HIM. The USCCB invites us on their Lenten Calendar to pray before the Eucharist today. As we journey towards Heaven, and journey through this Lenten season, let us honor and depend on the Eucharist so that we can become “perfect, as [our] Heavenly Father is perfect.”
