• April is traditionally devoted to the Blessed Sacrament!

“You are not nearer to the Blessed Virgin during the nine months she carried You in her womb than You are to me when You rest on my tongue at Holy Communion. You were not closer to the Blessed Virgin and Saint Joseph in the caves at Bethlehem or the house at Nazareth or during the flight into Egypt, or at any moment of that divine family life than You are to me at this moment and so many others—in the Tabernacle… You were no nearer to Your apostles when You were sitting in the midst of them than You are to me now, my God. How blessed am I!” -St. Charles de Foucauld

Some ways that you can observe and celebrate this month include:

-Spending some time each week in Eucharistic adoration (check your parish/pastorate’s bulletin for adoration opportunities!)
-Attending Mass one or more days each week in addition to Sundays, if you are able
-Attending a Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday (April 17) and/or spending time in adoration at an Altar of Repose after that Mass
-Learning more about Eucharistic Miracles throughout the Church’s history (these were catalogued by Blessed Carlo Acutis and can be found at http://www.miracolieucaristici.org!)
-Reading a book about the Eucharist or the Mass (we recommend Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist by Dr. Brant Pitre, 7 Secrets of the Eucharist by Vinny Flynn, or The Lamb’s Supper by Dr. Scott Hahn)
-Making an Act of Spiritual Communion each day, perhaps each morning as part of a Morning Offering (a common formula can be found here: http://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/devotions/act-of-spiritual-communion-339)
-Placing an image of the Blessed Sacrament in your workspace and/or home to help you recall Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist throughout your day
