• The Stations of the Cross are a beautiful prayer, especially for Lenten Fridays. We can walk with Jesus on His journey from condemnation to the tomb, uniting ourselves to the sacrifice of love that He offered for our sakes. Three out of the fourteen stations involve Jesus falling to the ground, crushed and exhausted from the burden of the cross. In St. Alphonsus Liguori’s version of the Stations, he writes: “My most gentle Jesus, how many times You have forgiven me; and how many times I have fallen again and begun again to offend You! By the merits of this second fall, give me the grace to persevere in Your love until death.” Let’s carry this prayer in our hearts today, sorry for our continuous sins, but endlessly grateful for the graces Christ offers, and the infinite love He poured out through His Cross.
