Dio Allentown2025 marks the 50th year of the CRS Rice Bowl!
“Operation Rice Bowl” was founded in the Diocese of Allentown by Monsignor Robert Coll.
During his involvement with Rice Bowl, Monsignor Coll communicated with Mother Teresa of Calcutta. At one point, Mother Teresa visited the Diocese of Allentown and encouraged participants in the Rice Bowl initiative. Monsignor Coll also traveled with Mother Teresa on some of her missions in India.
A letter from Mother Teresa can be found at St. Thomas More Church in Allentown.
