During the Chrism Mass, time is dedicated especially to offer prayers for its priests, who reaffirm their resolve to be conformed to the person of Jesus Christ, and for the People of God to renew our own commitment to holiness and missionary discipleship.
The oil of the sick and the oil of the catechumens are then blessed by Bishop Burbidge, who then consecrates the Sacred Chrism; all oil and chrism are to be used throughout the upcoming year in parishes across the diocese.
