Today Bishop Mark Brennan celebrated one of the most beautiful liturgies of the year – Chrism Mass – where he blesses the Holy Oils, and the unity of the bishop and priests all over the diocese are renewed with a commitment to serve the people of God.
Deacons, seminarians, religious sisters, andd laity from across the state joined in this special day.The three holy oils Bishop Mark blesses are all used in the sacramental life of the Church:
The 𝐎𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐤 – For anointing and healing in the Sacrament of the Sick
The 𝐎𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐬 – For those preparing for Baptism, strengthening them for the journey ahead
The 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 – A perfumed oil used in Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders, and the consecration of churches and altars.May God bless the Church, uniting us all.
May the saints intercede for all those receiving sacraments this year,
and may our priests remain ever faithful to the ministry of the Church and have a rejuvenated energy to bring Christ to all.
AMEN!
