He Is Risen! Easter Sunday in Mullica Hill
This Easter morning, Bishop Joseph Williams celebrated the Resurrection of the Lord with the faithful at The Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit in Mullica Hill. A joyous and spirit-filled Mass, the celebration marked the pinnacle of the Church’s liturgical year — the victory of Christ over death and the promise of new life for all who believe.
The Roman Catholic Easter Mass is unlike any other: filled with Alleluias, the return of the Gloria, renewal of baptismal promises, and the lighting of the Paschal Candle — symbols of Christ’s triumph and the light He brings to the world.
In his homily, Bishop Williams reminded the congregation that Easter is not just about remembering the past — it’s about living the mission today.
Quoting St. Paul, the Bishop proclaimed, “We are witnesses of everything Jesus has done.”
He echoed Pope Francis, who challenges us: “Are we witnesses? Or are we professional Christians? No, the Apostles went out to the people — and that is how the Church grew.”And Bishop Williams offered this charge to all present, “If you’re baptized, you’re not just a disciple, you’re a missionary disciple, according to Pope Francis. We must go out and spread His news.”
The Diocese of Camden also joins in offering heartfelt birthday wishes to Deacon Joseph Loungo, who joyfully celebrated his 84th birthday today with his parish family. May God continue to bless Deacon Loungo for his faithful service!
