• Today, the Church falls silent before the mystery of the Cross. On Good Friday, we confront the terrible beauty of God’s love – a love so fierce and so selfless, that it embraced suffering and death for our sake.

Jesus, the innocent one, takes on the weight of the world’s sin – not with anger or vengeance, but with mercy. “It is finished.” The work of our redemption is complete. The veil is torn. The way back to the Father is open.

Good Friday strips away illusions. We see clearly the cost of sin, the depth of divine love, and the call to follow Jesus even when it leads to Golgotha.

As we venerate the Cross today, may we bring to it all our pain, fear, and failure. Jesus already has borne it. In His wounds, we find healing. In His death, we find life.

Reflection questions: Have you ever prayed for someone by uniting your suffering to the sufferings of Christ, on that person’s behalf? What was that experience like?
