• “Behold the wood of the Cross, on which hung the salvation of the world. R. Come, let us adore.”

Archbishop Cordileone led the annual Celebration of the Passion of the Lord at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption this afternoon. Father Kevin Kennedy, pastor and rector of the Cathedral, delivered the homily, speaking on the importance of taking time on Good Friday to meditate on Jesus’ passion, remembering His great humility.

      As St. Paul writes:

“Have this mind among yourselves, which was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.”(Phil. 2:5-11).
