Jesus appeared to the eleven and said to them: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
Mark the Evangelist fulfilled in his life what every Christian is called to do: proclaim to all people the Good News, and he did this through his wonderful ability to write. He authored the second of the four canonical Gospels and one of the three synoptic Gospels.
St. Mark is also the patron saint of notaries, lawyers, and Venice. On this day, we thank God for the gift of Mark, an incredible evangelist, who showed us the path toward Jesus Christ.
