Mobile hosted the Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary’s 77th annual Gulf Coast District Conference this past weekend at the Mobile Marriott Hotel. The Knights of Peter Claver is the largest Black Catholic lay organization in the U.S. and was founded in Mobile in 1909.
Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi celebrated the conference Mass on Saturday evening. Very Rev. Vernon Huguley of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Hoover is the district’s chaplain and served as homilist for the Mass. St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary Catholic Diocese of Birmingham in Alabama
