• The Conclave to elect a new pope begins, Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Once the Conclave opens, diocesan bishops and priests in every parish throughout the world should offer Masses for the election of a new pope. Because it is important for all the faithful to participate in prayers for this significant event in the life of the Church, parishioners in the Diocese of Cheyenne should check with their parishes for dates and times when such Masses will take place.

Bishop Steven Biegler will preside over a Mass for the election of a new pope on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 6:45 am at the Cathedral of Saint Mary, Cheyenne. That Mass will be livestreamed, and those who wish to view it, may go to: https://www.stmarycathedral.com/livestream

The faithful are encouraged to offer their private prayers, works, and almsgiving for the election of a new Supreme Pontiff. The custom of frequently praying the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be for this intention is encouraged. The election of the new Pope should be prayed for in the recitation of the Rosary.
