The diocesan Office of Ethnic Ministries led a multicultural Marian pilgrimage to the Basilica of National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington D.C., this past weekend on Saturday, May 3.
The day started with a procession that began with drumming by the Korean community, followed by dances from the Chinese, Indian, Vietnamese, and other cultural communities to honor Mary.
Members of the Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs, Richmond, led a portion of the rosary during the pilgrimage.
Mass was celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Efren Esmilla, Archdiocese of Philadelphia, with concelebrant Auxiliary Bishop Evelio Menjivar, Archdiocese of Washington.
