Bishop Kagan celebrated Mass at the Pro-Cathedral of St. Mary on May 6 in honor of the 140th anniversary when St. Alexius Health treated the first patient in the former Lamborn Hotel building at the corner of Sixth Street and Main Avenue. This regionally-distinguished medical facility, with its multifaceted health care services, was seeded in some very humble beginnings yet has always remained backed by the Benedictine Sisters of the Annunciation Monastery and rooted in the Rule of St. Benedict.
