A Tomb Tuesday on a Wednesday!
In addition to the genealogy research cited below, archdiocesan archivist Katie Beeman has been researching the sacramental records of Pope Leo XIV’s family. So far Beeman has identified his great-grandmother, Eugenie Grambois was baptized at St. Louis Cathedral in 1840 and married at St Mary’s Church (now known as St. Mary’s Chapel at the Old Ursuline Convent Museum, New Orleans) in 1864. Her marriage to Ferdinand Baquie lead to the birth of her daughter Louise the Holy Father’s grandmother. Louise was baptized at Annunciation Church in New Otleans in 1868 and married Joseph Martinez in 1887 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
