• Today, May 17, marks 100 years since the canonization of St. Thérèse of Lisieux! Though she lived an unremarkable and hidden life in a Carmelite monastery and died at the young age of 24, Thérèse has become one of the most popular saints in modern time because of her “little way” of spiritual childhood, which emphasizes the need to place all one’s confidence in God’s love and mercy, and because of countless stories of her intercession from Heaven. Thérèse herself said as she was dying that she wanted to spend her eternity doing good on earth, and for many people, she has indeed been a reliable intercessor and friend.

Bishop Hying, who has a great devotion to St. Thérèse, wrote about her life and legacy in a September 2023 column in the Catholic Herald; you can reread his column here! https://madisoncatholicherald.org/hying-column-9-28-23/

St. Thérèse of Lisieux, pray for us!
