• 🐑 For the ancient Hebrews, sheep provided everything people needed — wool, milk, and meat. And lambs particularly were known for their innocence and trust, even when being led to the slaughter.

Jesus, as the Lamb of God, the Sacrificial Lamb, is both the provider of everything we need in life, as well as the humble, innocent man who sacrificed himself for our salvation.

🌷Sometimes referred to as “white-robed apostles of hope,” the Easter lily holds several symbols for the Easter season. The trumpet shape signifies Jesus’ triumph over death. The white of the flower symbolizes rebirth and purity. The lilies life cycle from a bulb is seen as an echo of Jesus’ death, burial in the tomb, and resurrection. Lilies, when mentioned in the bible, are a reminder to trust in God, that he will always provide for us.

🕯️Blessed and lit every year at Easter, the Paschal candle represents Jesus’ resurrection and triumph over death. (See our post on all the symbolism of the candle!)

❎ The Chi (X) Rho (P) is a symbol used to represent Christ. The two letters from the Greek alphabet are the first two letters of Christ (Christos) in Greek.
