• Today is the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

In the Visitation, we see Mary as a model of humility, gratitude, and evangelization. After receiving the Word of God in her womb, she travels to her cousin Elizabeth to share what God has done for her and to rejoice in what He has accomplished in her cousin. The visit culminates in Mary’s beautiful hymn of praise, the Magnificat. She rejoices not in anything that she has done, but in what God is doing in her, and in history, through His unmerited gift of grace.

May we, like Mary, always be open to God’s action in our lives, and may we be bold and joyful in sharing with others what He has done for us, not for our own sake, but for the glory of God!
