June is traditionally devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!
In his General Audience on May 28, 2025, Pope Leo XIV spoke of the Parable of the Good Samaritan and the virtue of compassion for the weak, wounded, and sinful. The Good Samaritan is an example and expression for us of the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, “who heals our wounds and restores our hope,” said Pope Leo in his summary of his address. In the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we find forgiveness of our sins, consolation in our troubles, strength in our weakness, and the perfect love that heals our broken hearts. We, too, are called to have hearts like the Sacred Heart, hearts that are ready to receive everyone with the love, mercy, and joy of the Father.
“Let us pray, then, that we can grow in humanity, so that our relationships may be truer and richer in compassion. Let us ask the Heart of Jesus for the grace increasingly to have the same feelings as Him.” -Pope Leo XIV (full address here: https://shorturl.at/1sMfH)
O Jesus, meek and humble of Heart, make our hearts like Yours!
