As Spring showers give way to June blossoms,
we enter a season of renewal and grace. In May, we honored Mary, Our Blessed Mother, and celebrated all mothers whose love reflects God’s enduring presence in our lives. Spring is also a time of profound joy across our Archdiocese as children receive their First Holy Communion—the Sacrament of Love, as Pope Francis beautifully described it.
Throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore, our community of faith rejoices with families whose children are receiving the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. These moments are milestones in the life of the Church and powerful reminders of how the seeds of faith take root within the family, the first and most vital place where faith is nurtured.
Parents, in collaboration with their parishes and supported by the Office of Family, Youth and Young Adult Ministry, play a pivotal role in forming young hearts and minds to know, love, and follow Jesus. Through faith formation resources, sacramental preparation, and parish support, our families are empowered and encouraged to live as missionary disciples in today’s world.
