PRAY: NOVENA FOR PRIESTLY ORDINANDS DAY #6 | DEACON DANIEL LACROIX: Only four days to go! On Saturday, June 14, Deacon Daniel LaCroix is due to be ordained to the sacred priesthood by Bishop Earl Boyea at Saint Thomas Aquinas in Lansing. Please pray for him today and his six fellow ordinands.
Deacon Daniel is from Christ the King Parish in Ann Arbor. Upon ordination, he will serve as Parochial Vicar at Saint John Vianney in Flint. He approaches ordination day inspired by the lives of the saints, as he now explains:
“My love for the saints and devotion to them have grown while in seminary. Reading their biographies captures my attention in a way that other books often don’t. I find recent saints and American saints particularly edifying. Venerable Emil Kapaun, a Korean War chaplain who died in a POW camp, beautifully exemplifies a priest’s selfless service to me. St. Philippine Duchesne’s example of pursuing holiness and zeal for souls amidst the ordinary struggles of life inspires me to do the same. The saints are not dead and gone but are alive in heaven, interceding for us here on earth in a special spiritual friendship.” Let us pray:Day 6: Let us pray for the gift of holy marriages and families, the well-spring of vocations.
