• St. Barnabas, whose name means “son of encouragement,” introduced St. Paul to Peter and the other apostles.

      He was sent with Paul to Antioch to preach to the Gentiles, who believed they were gods and wanted to sacrifice offerings to them after witnessing a miracle.

      St. Barnabas and St. Paul denied the offerings and said, “We are of the same nature as you, human beings. We proclaim to you good news that you should turn from these idols to the living God…” (Acts 14:15) #FeastDay
