Pope Leo XIV has announced that Blessed Carlo Acuitis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati are to be canonized together this Fall, September 7th!
These will be the first saints to be canonized under Pope Leo.
In their short lives, these soon-to-be saints made profound impact on the Catholic Church and our modern world.
“Not me, but God” was Carlo’s signature reminder to be an instrument of God’s will and love in today’s world. Carlo passed away in 2006 and will be the patron saint of the millennial generation.
Pier’s signature phrase “Verso L’Alto” (To the heights!) reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on heaven, to make ordinary moments extraordinary in our pursuit of holiness. Pier was known for his passions for helping others, the outdoors, and young adults.
Like them, we are “made for more” and called to be saints! May they inspire us to strive for holiness.
Blessed Carlo Acutis & Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati- pray for us!
