Four eighth-grade school students will be attending Catholic high schools this fall with help from the Black Catholic Ministry Commission and the Taylor-Woodson Memorial Scholarship.
Each year, the Black Catholic Ministry Commission awards $1,500 scholarships to eighth-grade students who will be attending a Catholic high school in the Diocese. The scholarship criteria is based on academics, recommendation letters, parish activities, community service and a written autobiography.
Funding for the scholarship comes from the Diocese of Camden Black Catholic Ministry Commission’s annual “Afternoon of Jazz, Plus,” as well as monies from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Black and Indian Mission Office collection.
