Catholic Social Teaching supports justice to be served for those who are harmed by a crime; it also supports restorative justice practices, which focus on healing and repairing relationships.
Restorative Justice seeks to heal the root of the offender’s wounds, and to help the victim, their family, and the broader community come together to heal and create a more just society through victim-offender dialogue, community conferencing, and restitution programs.
