• Pope Leo XIV gave a beautiful reflection on the healing and hope of Jesus in his general audience today! He spoke about the joint miracles in Mark of the raising of Jairus’ daughter and the healing of the woman with a hemorrhage (Mark 5:21-43). Both Jairus and the woman make the bold decision to approach Jesus in their need, and their faith is rewarded. “These two Gospel accounts,” said Pope Leo in his summary of his address, “teach us to be unafraid to turn to Jesus in prayer and to entrust ourselves to the healing power of his love, which can transform apparently hopeless situations and even bring life out of death.” You can find the full text of Pope Leo’s address at madisondiocese.org/ournewpope (at the bottom of the “First Speeches and Documents” section).

As we approach the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus this Friday, may we always entrust ourselves in all of our needs and wounds to the merciful Heart of Jesus, which is always eager to receive us in our need and to restore us!
