A WEE REMINDER: TOMORROW IS A DAY OF PRAYER FOR PEACE IN THE HOLY LAND: As you may know, Bishop Earl Boyea of Lansing has been encouraging each of us to consider offering prayer, fasting, and alms, upon the Fridays of June – Month of the Sacred Heart – for peace in the Holy Land.
Given tomorrow is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a day for feasting rather than fasting, it would be appropriate to postpone one’s fast for the Holy Land to a subsequent day.
As for almsgiving, Bishop Boyea recommends donating to the Catholic Near East Welfare Association, the official papal agency dedicated to pastoral and humanitarian support in the Middle East, including the Holy Land. Link: https://cnewa.org/
