• Today we celebrate the Optional Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who “reflected in her heart” the story the shepherds told of the angels proclaiming to them that her son was the savior who had been born (Luke 2:11-19) and who “kept in her heart” what she could not understand when her son Jesus stayed behind in the Temple – his Father’s House (Luke 2:46-51). The Blessed Virgin’s heart symbolizes every relational virtue that inspires love. Today we celebrate and ponder that perfect love. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!
