Today is the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul.
St. Peter was the leader of the apostles and was one of the witnesses of the Transfiguration of Jesus. St. Paul was a pharisee before his conversion to Christianity and began spreading the message of Jesus. Sts. Peter and Paul were martyred in Rome around 64 A.D.
