Today, July 1, is the feast day of Saint Junipero Serra, canonized by Pope Francis in 2015. Known as the “Father of California,” St. Serra serves as an example of single-minded zeal and extraordinary personal holiness. He is the patron saint of Serra International, clubs of lay people who organize and promote a huge array of events and programs that support, foster and, most importantly, pray for vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life. Did you know that North Dakota has two Serra clubs—Bismarck-Mandan and North Central North Dakota? New members are always welcome! Go to https://serrainternational.org/ for more information.
