• With hearts full of sorrow, the Diocese of Laredo joins the people of Texas in prayer for the people who went missing during the devastating floods along the Guadalupe River. As we mourn with their families and all those impacted by this tragedy, we hold fast to our faith and the hope that only Christ can give.

Governor Greg Abbott has called for a statewide Day of Prayer this Sunday, July 6, inviting Texans of all faiths to pray for healing, safety, and the restoration of lives and communities shaken by this storm.

We urge our Catholic community to respond with deep compassion, lifting our voices to heaven in solidarity with those who are grieving. Let us ask the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe to comfort the families, strengthen first responders, and bring peace to all hearts burdened by loss.
