Today, we honor the feast of St. Augustine Zhao Rong and the Chinese Martyrs.
In 1815, St. Augustine Zhao Rong,
the first native Chinese priest,
was martyred for his faith.He and 119 companions gave their lives between 1648 and 1930 under the Chinese Christian persecution.
Let us pray for the strength to live our faith boldly and to support our brothers and sisters facing persecution worldwide.
May the bravery of martyrs light our path as we carry the cross with faith, hope, and love.
