• A Special Story to Highlight in Our Catholic Community!

Many of you may know Rev. Mr. Christian Hamrick, one of our diocese’s Transitional Deacons, who will be ordained to the priesthood on Aug. 9. However, another role model in our diocese is Christian’s twin brother, Andrew Hamrick, who recently graduated from the Metro Nashville Police Training Academy—exactly one month before Deacon Christian Hamrick’s presbyteral ordination.

The Hamricks grew up in Nashville, attending grade school at St. Edward Church and School and high school at Father Ryan High School. They have truly made an impact on the community, each receiving the Eagle Scout Award and upon graduating Father Ryan, Deacon Hamrick received the Bishop Alphonse J. Smith Award and Andrew Hamrick received the Bishop Choby Christian Service Award.

These men are role models of what it means to serve the community with your life and to bring the light of Christ to others, each in their own vocation. Please join me in praying for them as they continue to serve the Nashville community!

Congratulations to Officer Andrew Hamrick, and we’re excited for August 9th at the Cathedral for Deacon Christian Hamrick’s ordination! We are so proud of you both!
